Just Another Day in Baldur's Gate
Perhaps it would have been a better idea to just get out of town, with everything going on in the city. The murders, the suspicious man being named Archduke, and the cult of the Absolute on the horizon. But Anders couldn't in good conscience, not when there were so many refugees being denied entry into the city and being treated like vermin. In a city as big as Baldur's Gate, surely there was room for everyone.
Anders finished dressing the wound of a tiefling and told her to take it easy for a while. She and a bunch of others had just come from Moonrise, detailing a rather harrowing experience of being captured by the cult and imprisoned. Anders had seen a lot of tieflings this morning, and he did it without complaint or offer of coin.
Even though he was a wizard by trade, Anders had also studied with clerics to learn their healing arts, working as a sort of freelance adventurer and going wherever a healer was needed. He also had a little extra passenger, but he didn't go around advertising that part.
He stepped out of the small house he'd been working from and into the fresh air, using a rag to wipe his hands clean of blood. He'd have to find a stream or fountain to wash up properly, taking a moment to just people-watch.
