To The Long-Forgotten Past

In some other place, something was very wrong with the Force today.

That wasn't in the center of Kaas City though. Dromund Kaas was unpleasant on the nicest of days, regardless of whether or not one had lived there since birth, was only passing through, or perhaps was not expecting to step foot on the planet at all.

The wind sent the constantly pouring rain sideways, soaking man, woman, and child regardless of any attempt to stay dry and the sky lit up with lighting, with barely a second in between flashes. Thunder rumbled perhaps a bit too close for comfort, making those unused to it jump.

Perhaps all of this was why it was the capital of the Sith Empire.

A gray city battered by rain, illuminated by lightning, and people going about their lives, and Sith lurking around every corner, doing whatever their whims dictated. It was perhaps a miracle that any civilian could live on the planet at all, much as they revered the Sith.

Two such presences- a pair of apprentices- were apparently bored today and picked their target, a Chiss man, given that aliens, in their minds, didn't really belong on Dromund Kaas, much less in the Empire as anything other than slaves. And the man didn't look like any slave they'd ever seen.

"Hey, you alien freak," The tallest of the two apprentices hissed as he made his way up to him, getting a bit close for comfort, "Don't scum like you have some floors to scrub?"

"Or an owner's boot to lick?" The other asked, taking a bit of a backseat, though seemed no less hostile.

"Somewhere you're not an eyesore? Walking around Kaas City like you own the place. It's disgusting."

With the military presence on the planet, the two starting trouble was seen- every soldier nearby turning away, pretending they weren't seeing what they were seeing. Sith business was Sith business and it was better to forget even the grisliest of murder scenes even if one came across them. Harassment like this? It was easy to ignore and forget, regardless of outcome.

Not that that flew with everyone- including one who'd broken off from the company of his companions. Interfering with business that was not one's own would normally not end well- but Chiss took care of their own. And the Chiss that had arrived was short and angry and ready for a fight.

It took him seconds to descend the stairs down to where the Sith were antagonizing one of his own, seconds to get in-between the other Chiss and the pair of apprentices and shove the taller Chiss back a few steps, less than a second to get his blaster out and shove it in the closest Sith's face, "I suggest you back the fuck off while you can, or they'll be mopping your brains up from the pavement here in a second, Sith. Don't think I won't pull the trigger, either."
