Thrawn wasn't one to say 'I told you so', but he had tried to make the Emperor see that making the Endor base impenetrable would have ensured a victory, and Palpatine hadn't wanted to listen to him. He felt more disappointed than sad regarding the Emperor and Vader. Disappointed that the Emperor hadn't listened to him and had suffered the consequences. Not to mention that Palpatine would have assigned several high-ranking officers to the Death Star and Executor, and they were all dead now. Palpatine had gotten them all killed for the sake of his ego.

Worse still, the galaxy was now woefully unprepared for the inevitable invasion of the Far Outsiders.
