It wasn't as if he wasn't a commoner once. Lorana was also used to a life where material wealth was discouraged and excess was frowned upon, but she also wasn't going to turn down an increased wage.

Perhaps he could house them in the Fortress of the Hand, for it was secure and they'd be of use there. Then again, Thrass's presence would cause a stir, for many of the Chiss staffed there knew that he had vanished. There was even a task force dedicated to finding Outbound Flight.
