A Meeting of Aliens
The whole Thanos thing had shook the world. Sure, Earth was used to super powered threats by now, be they men in power armor, supernatural beings come to destroy or enslave humanity, or entire cities destroyed because a sentient robot interpreted his programming in a certain way. But Thanos had come very close to destroying half the population of the entire universe, thanks to the Infinity Stones.
Eddie and Venom hadn't known about it at the time, or else they might have caught the first fight to Wakanda's nearest neighboring city. Thankfully, they hadn't needed to. Thor's brother, the infamous Loki, had shown up, after seemingly having been killed, according to the God of Thunder. Loki's trickery and magic had helped turn the tide, so the Avengers had been able to save the world once more. The details of the battle were still vague, since most of the Avengers didn't feel like talking about it, but Thanos was gone.
That brought Eddie to where he was right now. In a lounge room, notebook in hand and his phone set to record, prepared to interview the one man who was willing to talk. Venom had agreed to stay quiet for now, as they always did when Eddie had to do an interview.
"So, let's get started," Eddie pushes the record button on his phone, before getting his pen ready. "You faked your death, is that correct?"

"Riot bonded with the CEO himself, Carlton Drake, and they were going to go into space and bring back more symbiotes. Let's just say Earth dodged a bullet there." The Avengers may have saved the world time and time again, but an invasion of aliens like the symbiotes would have given them a run for their money.
Those few days after the battle, thinking Venom had died, were some of the worst days of Eddie's life.

"Well, seeing as I doubt anyone could really fight something such as you off easily, Venom." He said quietly, shrugging a shoulder as he continued watching them.
He took another sip of his wine, licking his lips slowly and really just staring at the two of them. He cleared his throat, standing up when he heard the doorbell and heading towards the door. "That is likely our dinner." He said, turning to glance at them.
"I've ordered a specialty dessert from a chocolatier that should be here shortly as well." He opened the door, paying the delivery boy and taking the bags of food. He carried everything to the coffee table, sitting back down.
no subject
When the doorbell rang, Eddie sat up slightly, so Venom could slip down and hide himself, just in case. It was only when they heard the door close did Venom slide back up.
"You want us to get some plates while you lay everything out?"
no subject
"That would be nice. You can get another beer if you wish as well." He took a small sip of his wine before he started pulling boxes out of the bag. "If you could, please bring me the bottle of wine from the fridge as well." He said quietly, smiling at him.
"So, you have both allowed me to ask questions and learn more about you." He said, shifting on the couch. "But I feel you are both curious about me. You've learned some from the interview, but certainly there are questions you want to ask off the record." He said, tilting his head.
no subject
"You could say that. You said you were a Jotuun, and we're pretty curious about just what a Jotuun is."
no subject
"Ah." He had wondered if that would come up. He took the plate the other carried for him, filling it slowly as he contemplated his answer. "The Jotuun are a race from the realm of Jotunheim. A barren wasteland of ice. A hostile place where nothing grows and very few things can live." He said quietly, keeping his eyes down.
"Odin found me as a babe. A runt left to die in the frost." He sighed, brushing his fingers through his hair. "Another term for them are Frost Giants. When Odin found me, took me, he cast an illusion over me to hide my nature from everyone, including me. I did not find out for a very long time." He said, setting everything down and sitting back slightly.
He was silent for a moment, the air around him seeming to shift slightly before suddenly smooth pale skin gave way to etched blue, emerald green eyes shone a crimson red and small horns grew from just below his hairline on either side of his forehead. If either of them reached out to him, they would feel the coolness radiating from his skin. His skin didn't freeze the way that a normal Frost Giant's would. It would just feel cool to the touch.

When Loki began to change color, they stopped eating and just watched with utter fascination. They hadn't been expecting that. Venom leaned in even closer, apparently forgetting about things like personal space. Cold didn't bother him, and he was half tempted to lick Loki, as one would be tempted to lick an icy metal pole.
"We are not repulsed by this."
no subject
Crimson eyes lifted, studying the two and looking for any signs that either of them were disturbed by what they saw. Then Venom spoke and his eyes widened only slightly. "You aren't?" He asked curiously, obviously surprised.
"I was raised as an Asgardian so I grew up on tales of war with the Frost Giants. Children were told legends of the monsters that inhabited Jotunheim so you can just imagine how I felt when I learned of my true heritage. Even now it...sometimes makes me uncomfortable." He turned his head to look at Venom, at the way the symbiote had moved into his personal space.
"Both of you may touch if you wish. As a runt, my skin is not as cold as a fully grown Jotuun. I am merely cold." He ended up reaching out himself, touching Venom, though ready to pull back if he needed to.
no subject
Reaching over, Eddie gently touched his fingers to Loki's cheek, feeling it cool to the touch and marveling at the etches on the skin. Eddie suddenly had an image of sitting close to Loki on a hot say and cooling off. Venom gently touched his forehead to Loki's other cheek, letting out a pleased little purr.
A silent conversation passed between man and symbiote, and Eddie said, "You know, since you showed us what you really look like, we think it's fair that you should see us get all big and scary."
Venom's head disappeared into Eddie's body as he stood up and walked over to the other side of the coffee table. The black ooze emerged again, covering Eddie's body, their height and muscle mass increasing, until Venom's head seemed to swallow Eddie's.
They grinned as Loki. "Behold."
no subject
He had nothing to say to the statement about Odin, his jaw clenching before he shook his head. "It took me a long time to forgive him though. He didn't...we didn't have the best relationship but even so, I did finally realize he loved me." He would at least say that. Odin might not have been a good father to him, but he had tried regardless.
When Eddie reached over he closed his eyes, tilting his head slightly into the warm touch to his skin. Within moment he felt the other though and he smiled, leaning into him as well. His eyes opened once more when Eddie spoke, looking confused as he moved around the table.
And then the man was changing, being engulfed by the symbiote and Loki couldn't help himself as he stood quickly and moved closer. He took in every inch, but none of it seemed to scare him like it would anyone else. Instead, he looked excited and even more interested. "Absolutely fascinating." He whispered, reaching out to slowly touch them, feeling them.
"This is extraordinary. You both are...exquisite."
no subject
"We thank you. Nobody has ever called us that." One of Venom's hands touched Loki's shoulder, feeling that coolness again. "If we had been in Wakanda, we would have eaten Thanos' head."
Speaking of food, they reached down, took one of the plates and tilted the contents into their gaping maw, swallowing it all in one gulp.
no subject
The slick feeling was certainly pleasant and it only added to the coolness of his skin. It was a feeling Loki could get used to if given the chance.
"Well, it is the truth. You are both exquisite and anyone would be lucky to know you both." He said softly, unable to stop the flush that rose in his cheeks, turning the blue an attractive shade of purple instead.
Then he chuckled, shrugging a shoulder. "I don't know. Thanos was not a simple being to kill. He was smart. He planned his moves." He said quietly, ducking his head and moving away. "I am only glad to have helped rid the universe of him."
After a few moments he recalled the illusion that made him blend in with the rest of the planet. He sat, beginning to eat quietly.

As Loki's glamour went back up, Venom shrank, the symbiote going back into his host. Eddie sat back down on the couch, as a thick tendril emerged again, forming Venom's head once more.
"Let's just say Venom can sympathize with the whole not liking heat thing."
"Heat in general does not bother us. Fire can kill my kind. Fire and high sound frequencies."
no subject
"I would have loved to see that. To be honest, any torture he may have recieved would have made me happy. As it were, I feel he was not punished enough." He admitted softly, trying to not think about what he had been through.
Though when they talked about Venom's weaknesses he looked over at them. "He used fire many times against me. He would..." He hesitated, clearing his throat. "He had many chambers and he would lock me in, the room would be engulfed in fire with me trapped in the center of it. Nowhere to escape. No way to get away." He said, shaking his head and wincing.
He reached up absently, touching his neck and shoulder while wincing. His illusion covered it, but he had scars from where he'd tried to escape and where Thanos had done more.
no subject
"Thanos sounds like he was a grade-A asshole." Figuring that a change of subject was in order, Eddie asked, "So, your thing is magic and illusions?"
no subject
His eyes slipped shut at the nuzzling, smiling softly as he leaned into the affection. He continued nuzzling for a long time before opening his eyes to stare at Eddie.
"Yes it is. There was a time when my illusions could only work when my target was surprised or...rather simple minded, but now I can cast an illusion over anyone." He stated, tilting his head a bit. "And with magic...well." He held his hands up, moving them together before the air shimmered around them and a beautiful flower formed in his hand. If the two looked closer, they would realize the delicate flower was made entirely of crystal and diamond.
no subject
"Lovely."
no subject
Loki let the two of them inspect the flower before he carefully sat it on the table before them, out of the way of the food. "I would like you to have it. As something to remind you both of me."
He smiled at them softly before he turned back to eat just a bit more. It wasn't much longer before the knock came for the dessert and he got up to retrieve it. A few moments later he walked in with a box, carefully moving things on the table before setting the box down and opening it.
The dessert inside was beautiful. A tiered chocolate cake with several pieces to it that almost resembled a floating chess board.
no subject
They finished the last few scraps of food by the time the doorbell rang again. Venom ducked down again, then came back out to marvel at the dessert. Venom looked like he wanted to eat it right then and there, licking his teeth and lips.
"When you treat someone, you really go all out, don't you?"
no subject
"I don't believe in being cheap when treating a guest. Especially not one who has been so...understanding and open as you two have been with me." He said softly, retrieving more plates and serving each of them.
"I only hope that this isn't the only time I can treat you both." He teased, smiling warmly before moving back to sit on the couch beside them.
no subject
"We will repay you in kind by eating the head of whomever says anything bad about you."
"Uh, I don't think so." Eddie smiled shyly at Loki, before he started on on his cake.
no subject
"You certainly don't have to do that, though I appreciate the gesture, Venom." He said with a wry smile and a chuckle, taking a bite of the dessert and groaning at how good it was.
"Hmmm, it will look suspicious if everyone who says something bad about me starts ending up headless." He continued teasing, looking at Eddie before winking.
"I prefer to find...other ways to dissuade them from their mudslinging ways. Usually in the form of some illusion that sends them screaming in terror with no way to prove it to anyone else."
no subject
"By which he means we've scared people by having Venom come out just enough to get scary and make them wonder what the fuck they just saw," Eddie took another bite of cake, savoring it. Venom took a bite of his own piece, giving a pleased little growl as he tasted it.
"Got the neighbor to turn down his music, anyway."
no subject
"Oh that must have been interesting. Since my time here I've done it once. I can cast illusions that focus on only one person so others around them cannot see." He said absently, smirking a bit. "A New York reporter, actually." He waved a hand, giving the name of a reporter Eddie had met certainly, though he didn't know that himself.
"He was practically stalking me. Obsessed with trying to get an interview with me, but unlike you he didn't want to try to understand. He made it very clear that he still considered me to be a monster. He didn't care about the truth. He cared about sensationalism." He shrugged, taking another bite before smirking.
"In the middle of a very important meeting with his boss, he just so happened to have a nervous breakdown. I read all about it." He raised an eyebrow. "One minute he'd been fine and the next he was screaming that monsters were coming after him. Even his own boss had apparently become one. Tragic really."
no subject
"You we like."
Venom had already finished his piece of cake and was licking the plate clean.
