A Meeting of Aliens
The whole Thanos thing had shook the world. Sure, Earth was used to super powered threats by now, be they men in power armor, supernatural beings come to destroy or enslave humanity, or entire cities destroyed because a sentient robot interpreted his programming in a certain way. But Thanos had come very close to destroying half the population of the entire universe, thanks to the Infinity Stones.
Eddie and Venom hadn't known about it at the time, or else they might have caught the first fight to Wakanda's nearest neighboring city. Thankfully, they hadn't needed to. Thor's brother, the infamous Loki, had shown up, after seemingly having been killed, according to the God of Thunder. Loki's trickery and magic had helped turn the tide, so the Avengers had been able to save the world once more. The details of the battle were still vague, since most of the Avengers didn't feel like talking about it, but Thanos was gone.
That brought Eddie to where he was right now. In a lounge room, notebook in hand and his phone set to record, prepared to interview the one man who was willing to talk. Venom had agreed to stay quiet for now, as they always did when Eddie had to do an interview.
"So, let's get started," Eddie pushes the record button on his phone, before getting his pen ready. "You faked your death, is that correct?"

"I mostly stay at the Avenger's Compound because they like to keep an eye on me, but I do have a place of my own as well. A few actually, it just depends on how I'm feeling at the moment." He said softly, watching the both of them. He hesitated before extending his hand, his eyes on Venom. "May I ask what you are called? Somehow I don't think you both go by Eddie."
He wanted to touch the symbiote, to see what the creature felt like, what it would be like. He really was infinitely curious. "I have a penthouse just a few miles from here. We could go there and order in."
no subject
"Venom."
"You wanna take my ride or your's? Actually, do you even have a car?"
Loki was an alien, and therefor he probably didn't have a driver's license, never mind a car. Or maybe he came in some alternate transport.
no subject
"Hmm I have a car, though if you aren't exactly comfortable riding with someone who isn't...quite legal, then we can find another way." He said, looking between them again.
Venom. Interesting. Oh he felt like this was going to be the beginning of something.
Even if it only meant a friendship, it would be one that would mean a lot. Loki rarely admitted things to people he wasn't comfortable with. It was why he had been surprised that the interview had gone so well. He had never expected to be comfortable sharing so much.
He was lonely though and he wondered if the two before him might be interested in ending that loneliness for him.
no subject
The two of them definitely wanted to get to know Loki better, since now they were both curious and Venom especially thought it would be interesting to speak with one who also wasn't from Earth.
no subject
"Sounds like a reasonable plan." He answered, turning to head down the hallway, figuring the two would follow him. "So how did...this come to be?" He motioned between the two of them. "You both seek to be reasonably accustomed to one another. You've had time to adjust, obviously. You even seem...well, fond of one another."
He seemed almost wistful as he made the statement, shaking his head. "It's at least good to see someone so accepting." He cleared his throat, fingers brushing through his hair. "I should hope to find someone so understanding." He wondered briefly if the coexistence between the two stopped at merely one being a host to the other or if there were more to it. He almost hoped there was more, not that he expected to be privy to anything like that between them.
no subject
He felt Venom give a pleased little thrill. And it worked out for both of us.
"It was kinda scary at first, what with the voice in my head and wanting to eat everything in sight. But we worked through it, and now we're closer than ever." A smaller version of Venom's head emerged from Eddie's upper back to nuzzle his cheek.
"We think we understand you pretty good, so far."
no subject
"A long story that we will have plenty of time to go into over dinner." He said with a smile, listening to the short version and nodding slowly. "Well, it seems to have been quite the match. You are lucky."
Oh what he wouldn't give to have something like that with someone. He sighed wistfully before looking at them again.
"Well I meant...for companionship. It seems like the two of you have one another for that." He could see the affection between them, especially when the smaller Venom head slipped out and nuzzled the human.
no subject
"It's weird, because you'd think this," Eddie pointed to Venom. "Would be freaky, but it's like, since we bonded we know we'll never be alone."
Eddie could see how Loki felt. It was how he felt when he'd nearly lost everything, and never felt more alone in his life. At least he had Venom. But here Loki was, on a planet that he saved but still had to work to earn humanity's trust.
"But, you know, I'm sure companionship's just right around the corner." Venom tucked himself back into Eddie's body as they stepped outside.
no subject
"I don't know. It..I mean, you said it yourself. You know that you will never be alone again. He knows he will never be alone again. Some might think that is a curse, but...well, I know what its like to truly be alone. To float through the infinity of space alone, fearing you might never speak to another soul again." He said quietly, shaking his head and sighing.
"I'm sorry. I don't want to make it seem...well, I don't know. Perhaps I envy the bond you two have. Wish for one myself, but I highly doubt it. Regardless of what I have done to save the planet, Mr. Brock, I will continue to be seen as a monster for what I did before." He said, having obviously accepted it as truth.
no subject
"I mean, we could see ourselves being your friend," Eddie said. "Believe it or not, but this whole bonding to an alien thing was dumb luck on both our parts."
Eddie's motorcycle wasn't too away, so he took out his keys. Once he mounted the bike, he looked up at Loki, "Lead the way."
no subject
He looked at Eddie, meeting his eyes and hoping that his words would be taken to heart by both beings. "I would be honored to have you both as my friend." He said, clapping a hand lightly on his shoulder and squeezing before moving to his own car.
He got in the car, starting up before pulling out. He looked in the rear view, making sure the motorcycle was behind him. From there he led the way to the his building, waving them both into the parking garage before pulling into his normal spot.
After a few minutes he got out, waiting for Eddie to get off the bike. "We have plenty of places we can order from. I've got a plethora of menus in the kitchen. So order whatever it is the two of you would desire. On me." He said, smiling softly.
no subject
He parked the bike next to Loki's car, carrying his helmet under his arm for now. "Honestly we could go for anything. We'll just take a look at those menus and see what speaks to us."
no subject
He nodded, tapping a code into the panel on the elevator before it started going up, whisking them to the top floor easily. He stepped out, leading them to through the foyer and into his penthouse apartment. "Welcome to my home. Make yourselves comfortable. I'll go grab the menus."
He walked towards the kitchen, looking back over his shoulder. "Would you like something to drink? I have wine, beer, juice, even soda if you like it." He ended up stepping into the kitchen, though he was still listening as he pulled a very nice bottle of wine out for himself, pouring himself a rather large glass.
He gathered the menus as well, stacking them up so he could easily carry them all out while still listening for the other.
no subject
When Loki returned with the menus, they picked up a few and looked them over. It all looked good, in their opinion. "What do you think, Venom?"
The symbiote emerged from Eddie's back again, forming the head and face one more. "Hm. That Chinese place."
"I was thinking the same thing." Eddie addressed Loki then, giving him their order. "Gotta warn you, he's gonna want something chocolate for dessert."
no subject
He took the menu and their order, phoning it in and making sure to order extra. "Don't worry about dessert. I'm taking care of that right now." He said, tapping away on the phone he'd pulled from his pocket. When he was finished he walked over to them, sitting down beside Eddie on the couch and taking a sip of his wine.
"Everything should be here in the next hour or so. I hope thats alright for the both of you." He turned a bit more towards them, eyes flipping from Eddie's face to the face beside him. After a moment he reached out, fingers brushing against the symbiote curiously.
no subject
Venom just gave a faint grunt of agreement, too distracted by Loki's touch. The symbiote leaned into his hand. It was the first time he'd been touched tenderly by one he wasn't bonded to. Plus, Loki's hands felt nice.
"You gonna steal him from me?" Eddie teased Loki.
no subject
Loki looked at Eddie, smiling at the tease even as he continued to touch the symbiote. Venom truly was remarkable, but then again, Loki was starting to think both of them were. He hadn't found a human who had fascinated him so, not until meeing these two.
"I would never dream of stealing him away from you." He said softly, boldly letting his hand move from the symbiote to touch the human as well, hand trailing down his arm before he pulled away and took another sip of his wine. "So, you've told me some of your story. I would love to hear more. About both of you."
no subject
"Four of my kind were brought to this planet and attempts were made to bond us to hosts. Many of the hosts did not survive."
"The Life Foundation wanted to use the symbiotes to take the CEO and all his rich friends into space, and using the desperate and down-on-their luck for test subjects. I was able to get in and take pictures for evidence, but then I tried to save someone I recognized. They'd bonded her to Venom, and that's when he made the switch over to me."
"I tried to make it work, and she held on longer than most, but she was still not an ideal host." Venom nuzzled Eddie's cheek. "Eddie is my perfect host.
no subject
He leaned against the couch, arm stretched across the back of it, resting very close to both the others. He was comfortable with them, it was obvious that he was.
"Four? Where are the other three then?" He asked curiously, tilting his head as he looked at them. "I mean, not that I have heard anything about you regardless, but certainly if there were others like you out roaming the world...wouldn't they have caused some kind of outcry? Or do you know they have other hosts."
It truly was fascinating to think about. He'd heard the Life Foundation had been shut down after a few mysterious circumstances. So something would have had to happen to the others. He smiled when Venom nuzzled Eddie, looking fondly at both of them.
no subject
"Riot bonded with the CEO himself, Carlton Drake, and they were going to go into space and bring back more symbiotes. Let's just say Earth dodged a bullet there." The Avengers may have saved the world time and time again, but an invasion of aliens like the symbiotes would have given them a run for their money.
Those few days after the battle, thinking Venom had died, were some of the worst days of Eddie's life.
no subject
"Well, seeing as I doubt anyone could really fight something such as you off easily, Venom." He said quietly, shrugging a shoulder as he continued watching them.
He took another sip of his wine, licking his lips slowly and really just staring at the two of them. He cleared his throat, standing up when he heard the doorbell and heading towards the door. "That is likely our dinner." He said, turning to glance at them.
"I've ordered a specialty dessert from a chocolatier that should be here shortly as well." He opened the door, paying the delivery boy and taking the bags of food. He carried everything to the coffee table, sitting back down.
no subject
When the doorbell rang, Eddie sat up slightly, so Venom could slip down and hide himself, just in case. It was only when they heard the door close did Venom slide back up.
"You want us to get some plates while you lay everything out?"
no subject
"That would be nice. You can get another beer if you wish as well." He took a small sip of his wine before he started pulling boxes out of the bag. "If you could, please bring me the bottle of wine from the fridge as well." He said quietly, smiling at him.
"So, you have both allowed me to ask questions and learn more about you." He said, shifting on the couch. "But I feel you are both curious about me. You've learned some from the interview, but certainly there are questions you want to ask off the record." He said, tilting his head.
no subject
"You could say that. You said you were a Jotuun, and we're pretty curious about just what a Jotuun is."
no subject
"Ah." He had wondered if that would come up. He took the plate the other carried for him, filling it slowly as he contemplated his answer. "The Jotuun are a race from the realm of Jotunheim. A barren wasteland of ice. A hostile place where nothing grows and very few things can live." He said quietly, keeping his eyes down.
"Odin found me as a babe. A runt left to die in the frost." He sighed, brushing his fingers through his hair. "Another term for them are Frost Giants. When Odin found me, took me, he cast an illusion over me to hide my nature from everyone, including me. I did not find out for a very long time." He said, setting everything down and sitting back slightly.
He was silent for a moment, the air around him seeming to shift slightly before suddenly smooth pale skin gave way to etched blue, emerald green eyes shone a crimson red and small horns grew from just below his hairline on either side of his forehead. If either of them reached out to him, they would feel the coolness radiating from his skin. His skin didn't freeze the way that a normal Frost Giant's would. It would just feel cool to the touch.
